Sea to Shining Sea

The riders rolled into town around 3:30 p.m. and stopped downtown to a warm reception by Mayor Tomzak and Fredericksburg residents. The group of riders have been making their way across the nation sponsored by State Farm and World T.E.A.M. Sports to raise awareness for disabled veterans. Riders consisted of both disabled and able-bodied riders all striving for a common goal. Staff Sgt. Marc Esposito, one of the veterans who suffered a broken back as a result of an I.E.D. explosion, said that the ride has been inspirational. He emphasized a motto that seemed to sum up the character of these veterans "Exceeding the standard is the standard" .
